SRI Consulting
Releases the 2007 Directory of Chemical Producers (DCP) – United
States
MENLO
PARK, CA. June 4, 2007 — Information
is everywhere, but finding the right information and
determining if the information is accurate is a daunting
task. Professionals following the chemical industry
who need to know what chemicals are produced by which
chemical companies, where the chemicals are produced,
and how large the plants are, have a unique challenge
as most of this i nformation is not easily accessible
in a comprehensive source. Today, SRI Consulting (SRIC)
releases its latest 2007 Directory of Chemical
Producers (DCP)—United States, the most
accurate and up-to-date source of chemical manufacturer
information.
Carolyn Read, DCP Program Director, commented, “We
have been researching and publishing the DCP since 1961.
Most of the information for the DCP comes directly from the
chemical producing companies through our annual survey. Our
full-time staff of professional researchers supplements this
information by reviewing numerous sources including press
articles, company websites, and research results from other
SRIC market research programs including the Chemical Economics
Handbook, Specialty Chemicals Update Program, and World Petrochemicals.
The large amount of research going into each DCP makes it
the most comprehensive source available. Our unique presentation
of listing chemicals based on their plant location makes
the DCP a unique resource for anyone who needs to know about
plants and products.”
The 2007 Directory of Chemical Producers—United
States provides up-to-date information on more than
7500 commercially produced chemicals and their producers,
over 3200 plant locations, and more than 1200 chemical
manufacturing companies with detailed data on plants, company
ownership, chemical activities, and capacity data for more
than 235 chemicals and polymers.
The DCP is organized into three main sections – the
Companies section, which includes a complete company listing
with details about plants and products; a Products section,
including plant locations for each manufacturer of each chemical
and polymer; and a Regions section, providing a useful list
of plants located in each city.
