WP Report Cumene This World Petrochemical (WP) report on Cumene contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections.  The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 100 pages.  There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce Cumene, as well as capacities for derivative products. Published January 2008                                                      WP Home   |    View Report     |     Purchase     |    View Sample Report  Abstract Global production and consumption of cumene in 2007 was almost 12 million metric tons.  Global capacity utilization was 88% in 2007, mostly unchanged from 2006.  Global cumene consumption is estimated to have increased by 3.3% in 2007, but is expected to increase by 4.8% per year from 2007 to 2012, declining to 2.5% per year from 2012 to 2017.  Average global utilization rates are expected to remain in the mid to high-80s range during the forecast period. Phenol/acetone production accounted for almost all global cumene consumption in 2007.  Another application for cumene (albeit very small) is for propylene oxide (PO) via the hydro-peroxidation process for PO.
