Published January 2008                                                      WP Home   |    View Report   |     Purchase    |    View Sample Report  Abstract Global production and consumption of ethylbenzene in 2007 was almost 30 million metric tons.  Global capacity utilization was 87% in 2007, unchanged from 2006.  Global ethylbenzene consumption is estimated to have increased by 4.1% in 2007, and is expected to increase by 3.3% per year from 2007 to 2012, declining to 2.7% per year from 2012 to 2017.  Average global utilization rates are expected to remain in the low to mid-80s range for most of the forecast period. Essentially all ethylbenzene is consumed in the production of styrene.
