WP Report
Methyl Methacrylate (MMA)
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on MMA contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 110 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce MMA, as well as capacities for derivative products.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of MMA in 2009 were both approximately 2.7 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 75% in 2009; down from 81% in 2008. MMA consumption is estimated to have decreased by 6% in 2009 from 2008; it is expected to grow an average of 5.1% per year from 2009 to 2014, slowing to 3.3% per year from 2014 to 2019. Average global utilization rates are expected to gradually increase from the mid-70s range to the high 80s range by 2019.
Acrylic sheet production accounted for about 43% of global MMA consumption in 2009, followed by molding/extrusion and surface coatings. Other applications for MMA include emulsion polymers, impact modifiers, polyesters, and transesterification.
The following pie chart shows world consumption of MMA by end use:
