Oxo Alcohols
This World Petrochemical (WP) report on (C3) Oxo Alcohols contains complete global and country supply/demand balances for the base year, the past five years and five and ten year projections; production, consumption and trade are estimated for 2-Ethylhexyl Alcohol, Isobutyl Alcohol and n-Butyl Alcohol separately in the analysis. The complete report including the analyses and supply/demand tables contains approximately 180 pages. There is also a table showing all global producers, their locations, and capacities (current, historical and future) to produce Oxo Alcohols, as well as capacities for derivative products.

Abstract
Global production and consumption of (C3) oxo alcohols in 2007 was approximately 6.4 million metric tons. Global capacity utilization was 72% in 2007, essentially unchanged from 2006. Global oxo alcohols consumption is estimated to have increased by 2.8% in 2007, and is expected to increase on average by 3.5% per year from 2007 to 2012, and 3.2% per year from 2012 to 2017. Due to faster capacity growth than consumption growth, average global utilization rates are expected to remain in the high-60s to low-70s range in the next few years.
The oxo alcohols analysis breaks out 2-ethylhexyl (2-EH) alcohol, isobutyl alcohol, and n-butyl alcohol. 2-EH made up about 47% of the total global oxo alcohol consumption in 2007, followed by n-butyl alcohol with 46%, and isobutyl alcohol with 7%. Globally in 2007, plasticizer use accounted for 78% of 2-EH consumption; solvent use made up 65% of isobutyl alcohol use; and chemical applications accounted for 73% of n-butyl alcohol consumption.
The following pie charts show world consumption of oxo alcohols by end use:
